FOR SCHOOLS

The Giovanni Poleni Museum is the perfect place to approach or deepen the study of physics and its history! Thanks to its long tradition in science education, it passionately offers a varied educational program, aimed at schools of all levels. Every year, the museum welcomes numerous classes, offering workshops that combine theory and practice for engaging and dynamic learning.

Through collaborations with educational institutions and schools, we offer a wide range of educational experiences that enhance our heritage of scientific instruments and stimulate critical and creative thinking. The activities, adapted to each school level, cover fundamental themes such as the evolution of physics, the history of scientific instruments, mechanics, electricity, and much more.

The offer is divided into two main categories:

  • Guided Tours: Specifically structured for classes of all levels, guided tours often include interactive parts, in which students can follow or participate in experiments, with particular attention to kindergartens, primary schools, and secondary schools of first and second grade.
  • Workshops with Thematic Guided Visit: Thematic educational paths, aimed at secondary schools, which include a laboratory activity and a thematic guided tour of the Museum.

PLAN A VISIT

Where to eat

Packed lunch: the museum does not have a place for the class to have lunch. In case of good weather, we suggest using the spaces of the Arena Gardens (700 m | west) or Prato della Valle (2 km | South). In all weather conditions, you can have lunch at the Cloister of St. Anthony (1.6 km | South) of the Basilica of St. Anthony. Here you can freely access a “picnic” area designed for groups and equipped with tables and benches.

It is also possible to book a large heated indoor hall. The reservation must be made in advance by calling the sacristy 049.8242890. For the use of both spaces there is no fee but a donation is appreciated.

How many classes together?

The maximum capacity of the Museum ranges from 30 to 60 students, depending on the type of activity you choose. For larger classes or for multiple classes, it is necessary to book more time slots.

While you are here...

We recommend combining the visit to the Giovanni Poleni Museum with the “Enrico Bernardi” Machine Museum, where the main examples of internal combustion engines that revolutionized European motor technology in the 19th century are preserved.
